Harvey Shapiro - Field Manager
Harvey is returning for his eight season as manager of the Bourne Braves. He has over 30 years of baseball coaching experience at the college level, including stints at Schenectady County Community College, Springfield College, Bowdoin College and the University of Hartford. Harvey has been a coaching mainstay in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League for more than a decade. He is the all- time wins leader in Bourne.
Last year Harvey led the Braves to their first Cape Cod Baseball League Championship! The team finished the season with a record of 25-17-2 and a 1st place regular season Western Division Title. The Braves went on to sweep the Orleans Firebirds in the first round of the playoffs and then swept the Cotuit Kettleers for the Championship.
In 2008, Harvey led Bourne to a one game play in series on the last day of the regular season. In 2007, Harvey led Bourne to their third western division regular season title in five years. In 2005 and 2003, Harvey managed the Bourne Braves to the Western Division Playoff Titles and led the team to their first Cape Cod League playoff finals in 2003. In 2005, Bourne received the Commissioner's Cup. This award recognizes the extraordinary accomplishments of an individual franchise.
As the manager of the Falmouth Commodores from 1994-1998, Harvey led the Commodores to a divisional regular season championship in 1994 and the playoff finals in 1996. Harvey was the Cape Cod League Manager of the Year in 1996. Before managing Falmouth, he was an assistant coach at Wareham and Yarmouth-Dennis.
Harvey managed the West squad in the 1995, 2004, and 2006 Cape League All-Star games and will again be the manager in the 2008 Cape Cod League All-Star game. He has had the privilege of coaching a number of major leaguers, including Justin Maxwell, Micah Owings, Darin Erstad, Adam Kennedy, Eric Milton and Jeff Weaver, who have played for him in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
Harvey also has international ties, having served as the Dutch National Baseball Coach for three years, and he coached in two world championships in Cuba and Holland. He has conducted clinics in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Holland, Germany, and the Netherlands Antilles. Harvey is also a published author on baseball and has served on various collegiate and international committees.
Harvey is a graduate of the University of Connecticut where he played baseball and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting, and he holds a master's degree in physical education from Springfield College.

Josh MacDonald - Pitching Coach
Josh returns to the Braves for his second sesaon. He has just completed his first year as a history teacher at St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, CT. Josh also assists in coaching the football, basketball and baseball teams.
Josh was graduate assistant on the Long Island University coaching staff for three seasons. Josh pitched for the Huskies of the University of the Conneticut from 2002-2006.
He finished his career third in all-time appearances with 62. MacDonald also owns the fourth-best single-season appearance mark, pitching in 22 games during the 2006 season. During that campaign, Connecticut broke the school record for wins, with 39, and was the top team in New England. MacDonald also played for the New Market Rebels in the Valley League during the 2005 season. He was named a Northern League All-Star that year.
Drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates out of high school in the 2001 MLB draft.
The Milford, Conn., native earned a Bachelor's Degree in History from Connecticut in 2006 and his masters in Health Science from Long Island University in 2009.
Josh resides in Oakdale, CT with his son Thor.

Aracelio Rivera Jr- Assistant Coach
Aracelio comes to the Braves having just completed his seventh season as an assistant coach at De Anza college in Cupertino, CA. He coaches hitters and infielders.
He has spent summer seasons coaching in leagues such as the California, Atlantic, New York and in the New England. In 2001 he was an assistant with the San Francisco Seals, in 2004 he was an assistant with the Danbury Westerners, in 2005 he was an assistant with the Long Island Collegians, in 2006 he as an assistant with the Salinas Valley Packers. Aracelio spent last summer coaching the FCA affliate team, Niagara Power, in the NY collegiate league.
He is a Native New Yorker,a graduate of the University of Bridgeport and Sullivan County CC were he received his Associate in Arts and Bachelor of Science in Physical
Education. He presently resides in San Jose, CA.
Rob Ramseyer - Assistant Coach
Rob Ramseyer joins the Braves mid-season in 2010. He just completed his third season as Assistant Coach / Recruiting Coordinator at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas.
He is a 2006 graduate of MNU and played two years as a first baseman for the Pioneers. In his time coaching the Pioneers, he has contributed to the first back-to-back 20 win seasons in the program's history.
Rob started his coaching career at Lawrence Free State High School in 2006 where he served as an assistant varsity coach and head coach in the legion summer baseball program. He has spent the last two summers working in the Athletes in Action Baseball Orginization. In the summer of 2008 he was the head coach of the Bolivar A's of the New York Collegiate League. This past summer he served as the head coach for the Fairbanks AIA Fire of the prestigious Alaska Baseball League.
Rob is married and he & his wife Charlie reside in Kansas City.
