Former Braves Pitching Dick "Schoonie" Schoonover Passed Away

Former Bourne Braves Pitching Coach Dick "Schoonie" Schoonover passed away on Monday after a 5 year battle with cancer.

Dick was a great friend, outstanding coach and most importantly a warm and decent person. Schoonie was able to come to the Cape for 3 weeks this summer ...to assist some of our pitching staff and played a role in helping Bourne capture its first Cape League Championship.

Our condolences to his wife JoAnn, son Michael, daughter Dana Lee and the entire Schoonover family.
