Romero Bourne's Player of the Game

The game was knotted at two with 1 out and two men on. The man from Oregon State, Stefen Romero smacked a towering sacrifice fly to score Cape League MVP, Kyle Roller and then pandemonium reigned supreme in the bottom of the ninth at Doran Park.
The Bourne Braves fans erupted, after the team took the first game of the series against the Orleans Firebirds 3-2, while also gaining their first victory over Orleans this season. The next game will be held tomorrow at 4:00 PM on Orleans home turf.
Heading into the ninth, Braves fans had very little to cheer about. They were down by 2 runs and the starting pitcher for the Firebirds, Jorge Reyes (Oregon State) was pitching a gem. But Bourne fans weren't ready to give up on the Braves just yet. Reyes had to be relieved in the ninth after giving up a single to Scott Woodward(Coastal Carolina) and on the next play walked the other speedster on the Braves, Pierre LePage (UConn).
Brett Weibley came in relief of Reyes and the Orleans closer seemed to struggle from the get-go. The biggest problem the Firebird faced was that he was up against Kyle Roller (East Carolina), the Braves superstar. Roller proceeded to knock in Scott Woodward on a single for the first run of the night for the Braves and which advanced LePage to third. On the next play, LePage was able to score from third after the wild-pitch thrown by Reyes which tied the game at two.
After Rob Segedin (Tulane) of Bourne was walked, the hero of the game Stefen Romero stepped up to the plate. That's when he smashed the shot to center and the fans went crazy as the Braves went on to win.
Not surprisingly, Stefen Romero is Bourne's Player of the Game.
