Bourne, MA – For the first time in Bourne Brave’s history, fans will be able to view some of the season’s games on television, announced Cape League president, Judy Walden Scarafile and Bourne Braves president, Tom Fink. Beginning June 29th, Comcast’s Community Access Channel 13 in Bourne will tape Bourne Braves “Game of the Week” games played at Doran Park. Each game will be broadcast three times giving fans ample opportunity to catch any games they missed. The games are scheduled for broadcast on Saturdays at 7 pm, Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m., and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. Up-to-date broadcast information will be on Channel 13’s Community Calendar.
“The Cape League applauds the Bourne Braves on this exciting venture. We are grateful to Comcast for their interest in filming games and promoting the Braves and the Cape League. It clearly is win-win for all of us,” said Scarafile.
Fans of Cape League baseball can currently watch live video web casts or listen to live audio web casts of home games. Comcast will be bringing both professional cameramen and cameras to Doran Park, providing not only fantastic content, but also a high quality picture for viewers at home.
John Doran, Bourne Braves chairman of the board and a resident of Sagamore Beach, was instrumental in forging a relationship between the Bourne Braves and Comcast. “Whenever I’ve missed a Bourne Braves baseball game, I would find myself wishing I could catch it on TV. When I brought the idea to Comcast’s Judy Lee Eustace and Dick Anderson, they were incredibly enthusiastic about the idea of broadcasting Bourne Braves games,” stated Doran. “Broadcasting the games fit perfectly with their commitment to producing programming that is important to residents of Bourne”
