Braves to read to kids this summer at Doran Park

Bourne - The Bourne Braves and Bourne Public Library will combine their talent and resources to persuade kids to read this summer.

BPL Children’s Librarian Terry Colon said story hours will be at Doran Field 10 to 11 a.m. July 15, 22 and 29.

Members of the Braves will read stories to youngsters and a program of take-home crafts may be arranged.

The library, meanwhile, will print the Braves’ Cape Cod Baseball League schedule on the back of its summer bookmarks.

A “pass the can” night may also be coordinated in which donations from spectators will be forwarded to the BPL Building Project at Sandwich Road.
